Biography

Ruslana Steininger is a Software QA Engineer at Autodesk Research. Her responsibilities include overseeing QA efforts in Research Transfer team, evaluating design specifications, testing prototypes and software libraries in multiple product lines, authoring testing plans and maintaining QA records. She worked on such projects as ToolClip™, Marking Menus™ and the AutoCam library (ViewCube®, SteeringWheels®, ShowMotion®, Navigation Bar® and support for 3Dconnexion). Ruslana collaborated with Environment and Ergonomic Research group by helping them develop design documentation for the building performance monitoring system called Project Dasher. Currently she works on Project Chronicle. Ruslana also acts as the SharePoint administrator for the entire Research team.

Previous experiences include Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems consulting, web design, search engine optimization (SEO) and database administration. Ruslana also held an internship position with Autodesk (Alias|Wavefront) in 2002. She received her Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering from the Computer Science Department at the University of Toronto in 2003. Prior to that she pursued a degree in Journalism at Ivan Franko Lviv State University in Ukraine. Ruslana enjoys furthering her education and has completed multiple training programs within Autodesk and external professional courses such as the Oracle 10g Database Administrator program (Humber College, Toronto) and the professional Business Skills and Communication course (Dale Carnegie Group).

Ruslana is fluent in three languages (English, Ukrainian and Russian) and has a working knowledge of Polish, French, Spanish and German. Her hobbies include improvisation, poker, yoga, photography, animation movies, hiking, and travelling.
