Larry Peck is the Senior Director of Bio/Nano group. He comes to Autodesk Research via Global Engineering Operations. Larry is thrilled with this opportunity to contribute in an area of research that is at the intersection of bio/nano and the design spaces currently supported by Autodesk software. His depth of experience inside of Autodesk as well as leading teams will enable the BN team to continue to grow and deliver on its remarkable vision.
Larry came to Autodesk in 1993, shortly after an Autodesk acquisition established a Novi, Michigan development site. He led the development and delivery of surface modeling, parametric modeling, the manufacturing product suite, online collaboration, and data management products before taking the broader role of engineering platform leadership for the Manufacturing division. Larry eventually ended up residing in Shanghai China while running Autodesk's world-wide engineering teams.
Prior to Autodesk, Larry worked for General Motors programming their corporate solid modeling product and spent a number of years with a small startup software venture doing CAD and CAM. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute. During his years at GMI he did his co-op work at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan working for the Engineering Staff. He now lives in San Francisco and though he has retained his passion for antique cars he now likes to spend his time hiking and biking. He has three grown children attending a variety of universities in the United States.
