Max is joining the Computational Science research group in Autodesk Research and will focus primarily on project Dreamcatcher, by contributing to our research program for advanced generative design solutions and assisting with strategic partnerships and new business opportunities, and he currently works from his home office in Rockford, Illinois.
Max has an extensive 15+ year career in Designing Advanced Software Applications (Design, Analysis & Manufacturing) for total process Optimization and Manufacturing Process Automation with a deep experience in the Business-Technology interface and capacity to identify and align emerging technology needs with products and services.
He joined Autodesk from Magestic Systems Inc., where he was the Director of Business Development with responsibilities of: directing R&D efforts to introduce new products addressing emerging technologies, establishing R&D Ecosystem composed of Material suppliers, OEM customers, Machine Vendors and Center of Excellence (AMRC , NCC) to develop multi-disciplinary software applications, structuring strategic proposals with key customers, increasing market footprint leveraging existing and new resellers, launching Educational License for Universities and Composite Center of Excellence, negotiating business terms & conditions, and closing transactions.
He started his career as a Math teacher for undergraduate schools and as a consultant for Aerospace and Automotive companies (Agusta Westland, Alenia, Lamborghini…).
In 2002, Max moved with his family to Illinois, working for Ingersoll Machine Tools as Director of Composite Software and Applications engineers, designing the first CAD embedded Software Platform for composite material Design, Analysis and Programming of Automated Material layup using robotics systems and Advanced Additive CNC Machine for Automated Composite Material Layup (Large Scale Additive Manufacturing).
His international experience includes major programs such as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the first 7 fuselages Section 46 and 44 for the Boeing Dreamliner have been designed & programmed by a team of engineers directed by Max, Airbus A350, Lockheed JSF, and GE Aviation and more.
Earned company awards including two times JEC Innovation Award for best software application in Advanced Material Design, principal author for company patents and published several articles and papers.
Max is a Dr. of Aerospace Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan (Italy). He is very passionate about mathematics, enjoys playing soccer and following F1 races.
