Nastaran is a Research Scientist in Simulation, Optimization, and Systems group at Autodesk Research. Her research interests are simulation-based design and optimization, generative design, and data-driven simulation and modeling.
She has a background in computational mechanics, biomechanics, and image processing. She has developed mathematical models and numerical tools to simulate various structures and to analyze the static and dynamic structural behavior. Nastaran has experience in 3D imaging and image processing of biological systems with specific focus on ultrasound brain imaging. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). She got her PhD from McGill University and held postdoctoral fellowships at Sunnybrook Research Institute and the University of Toronto.
Nastaran's hobbies include painting, hiking, hanging out with her friends, and reading.
