Thomas White is a Software Development Manager and leads the Research Transfer team at Autodesk. He is responsible for converting successful research outcomes into production-quality components and supporting their integration into products. Thomas has also worked on other projects at Autodesk, including SketchBook Mobile, SketchBook Pro, Maya and PortfolioWall.
With over 15 years of experience in software development, Thomas’s areas of expertise include agile development methods, application and component architecture, 2D and 3D graphics, internationalization, and the Windows, Mac OS X and iOS platforms.
Thomas received a Bachelor of Mathematics in Honours Computer Science from the University of Waterloo in 1994. Previous to joining Autodesk (then Alias) in 2000, he was a Senior Software Developer at Gavel & Gown Software, and as a student worked at Comnetix Computer Systems, Apple Canada, OISE and Science North.
Thomas lives in the Greater Toronto Area with his partner Julia and their two cats. He is an avid runner and races competitively. He also enjoys cycling, playing tennis, travelling and hiking on the Bruce Trail.
